The Data Is In: Hispanic Homebuyers Are Carrying the U.S. Housing Market

Here’s a number that stopped me in my tracks when I first saw it.

In 2025, Hispanic households accounted for 139.6 percent of total U.S. homeownership growth. That’s not a typo.

Without Latino buyers and renters, the national homeownership rate would have actually gone down. Our community didn’t just participate in the housing market last year …we held it up.

As a Hispanic real estate agent in Indiana, I’ve watched this city grow and the CUltural communities thrive. I’ve spoke with countless of families who were told “not yet.” First-time buyers who figured out how to make it work anyway. People who know that owning a home was the most powerful financial move they could make.

For the Hispanic community specifically, the data backs them up. Hispanic homeowners have a net worth 26.4 times greater than Hispanic renters. The Latino GDP has reached $4.1 trillion-the fifth-largest economy in the world if measured independently. And over the next five years, 2.2 million Hispanic households will reach prime homebuying age.

This market isn’t emerging. It’s been here. It’s continually growing. And the Hispanic market deserves real information.

That’s why I put together The 2026 Hispanic Homeownership Market in America Report: a research-backed, plain-language look at where the Latino community us, what’s in our way, and where we are headed.
